What You Will Be Part Of

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Radix, you'll design and develop scalable backend systems that power our AI-driven analytics and data-processing pipelines. You'll work on distributed architectures, backend logic, and integrations that support automation, reporting, and intelligent insights across the multifamily space. You'll lead delivery of multi-sprint features, mentor engineers, and shape technical direction for the team.

What You Will Achieve 

• Build and maintain backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, Python, and .NET Core.
• Design APIs, data flows, and messaging systems using MongoDB, MSSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, and AWS SQS.
• Implement clean, testable architecture using SOLID, CQRS, and DDD principles.
• Integrate AI-based components (LLM APIs, AI data processors, Excel parsers) into backend systems.
• Work with AWS services — Lambda, S3, RDS, and CloudWatch — for deployment, storage, and automation.
• Design resilient, observable services and components; perform profiling and optimization; automate tests across the pyramid; drive defect prevention.
• Facilitate technical discussions and decisions; align with PM/Design on scope and trade-offs; partner with SRE/Security/Platform to meet SLOs and compliance needs.
• Own end-to-end outcomes for features/services in production, including on-call readiness and incident follow-ups.
• Mentor engineers, raise the bar on code reviews, and introduce patterns and standards adopted by the team.
• Distill complex requirements into coherent designs; anticipate failure modes and plan mitigations.
• Author concise design docs and post-mortems; communicate trade-offs and decisions to engineers and partners; present to management on scope and schedule.
• Use AI tools to enhance code quality, documentation, and automation pipelines.

What Makes You a Strong Fit 

• 5–8 years of backend experience in production systems with a track record of leading significant deliveries
• Strong knowledge of API design, asynchronous systems, and microservice architecture.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, caching, and messaging patterns.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, S3, SQS, ECS, RDS).
• Understanding of AI/LLM integration and prompt engineering fundamentals.
• Depth in backend development and breadth across the stack; performs all work with high quality, bugs are rare; unit tests most code.
• Skilled in debugging across the codebase; works through ambiguity and creates plans/estimates.
• Fluent with observability (logs, metrics, traces), threat modeling, and production readiness checklists.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ownership, and attention to system design quality.
• Ability to coordinate work spanning multiple components/teams and sequence delivery and dependencies effectively.
• Degree or equivalent experience; ongoing training in architecture, cloud, security, and performance engineering.
